This past week Los Angeles decided to not just stir from the “winter” months, but do a full on sprint to summer. Being the fair skinned Irish that I am, I was not prepared. I went on my weekly hike to Griffith Park and decided to push myself a little more to do a longer course. Since my birthday is coming up, any added workout is essential to not being flabby for thirty. Unfortunately, I did not bring my sunscreen. The result? Scorched.
I felt a little warm on the hike, but thought I’d be alright. My skin just kept cooking. When I got home and saw the final damage, I knew I could not make that mistake again. I had legitimate blisters forming and of course my Aloe was on low supply. (A staple for any fair skinned beauty). My mister saw me and immediately made me go to Target. He said we couldn’t mess with me and the sun anymore and had me get extra sunscreen to keep in my bag at all times.
Now don’t get me wrong, I am proud of my Irish heritage. But as everyone celebrates St. Patrick’s Day today, the only green I want is Aloe Vera (Maybe I’ll take a Guinness too)!
